CTO involves people with lived experience of disability in the design, delivery and oversight of the training and assessment strategies.

STUDY MODE:

Weekly face-to-face workshops

On-the-job practical experience in a workplace

DURATION: 
42 weeks (10 months)

COURSE DELIVERY:
The qualification is delivered over 42weeks (10 months) comprising of:

  • 3 terms, 42 weeks total
  • 7.5 hours of classroom training per week
  • 7.5 hours of self-study homework per week
  • 120 hours of work placement
  • 8 weeks of holiday breaks

 
Students can complete the assessments and practical skills 
workbook in their current workplace, or CTO can organise placements for students who are not currently working in industry.

Minimum course numbers are required for courses to go ahead.

PRE-ENROLMENT PROCESS:
STEP 1:
Submit an expression of interest to the course
STEP 2:
We will contact you for an informal interview to ensure this is what you are looking for and that we know what you need to succeed
 
STEP 3:
Once interviews have been conducted, accepted students will then progress to the final stage of their enrolment form and deposit payment.
  
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

There are no specific entry requirements to this qualification, however experience working with people with a disability and completion of Year 10 or equivalent is highly recommended.
Students are required to undertake 120 hours of work placement.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
You may apply for recognition of prior learning if you have existing skills and knowledge relevant to the units of competency included in this skillset. You will be required to provide current, sufficient, valid and authentic evidence to achieve a statement of attainment via RPL. Additional training or assessment may be required if there are gaps in your evidence. Contact us to discuss RPL further.
