Induction to Disability Support

CORE UNITS

CHCCCS031	Provide individualised support
CHCCCS038	Facilitate the empowerment of people receiving support
CHCCOM005	Communicate and work in health or community services
CHCDIS020	Work effectively in disability support
HLTWHS002	Follow safe work practices for direct client care

Achievement of these units provides credit towards a range of qualifications in the CHC Community Services Training Package and HLT Health Training Package.

Crucial Training Options (CTO) training is designed for people who wish to work ‘one person at a time’ and who care deeply about the quality of the support they provide. People with lived experience of disability are involved in the design, delivery and oversight of the training and assessment strategies.

COURSE COST & PAYMENT:
Full Fee: $1,250 (GST Free)
 
VENUE:
Level 2, 43 Peel Street South Brisbane Qld 4101

Duration and Delivery: up to 6 months blended face-to-face and online delivery

• October – weekly face-to-face classes and simulation assessments
• Online learning and assessments
• Late January – mid-March weekly face-to-face classes and simulation assessments

This skillset does not require you to complete a mandatory Vocational Placement. However, the assessment criteria in the units of competency may require work-based assessments. We encourage students to take on volunteer or paid work while studying which will also allow you to apply the learning and develop practical experience.

Target audience: This skill set is for individuals who are entering the disability sector.

Minimum course numbers are required for courses to go ahead.
