Introduction:

This course equips you with the fundamental skills for safely assisting people with disability with medication management.  This training will enhance your personal skills and, prepare you to provide medication assistance.  Students who also undertake the assessment receive a Statement of Attainment as this is a nationally recognised course.

What will you learn?
  • Forms of medication, how they are handled, administered, and stored.
  • Basic medication terminology
  • Legislation, regulations, codes of practice and workplace policies.
  • Documentation requirements for the administration of medication. 

Part 1 – A full day face-to-face lecture with practical simulations
A one-day informative workshop including hands-on simulation of medication administration. 

Part 2   For students wishing to achieve this qualification, assessment for this unit is completed through:
  1. Our online learning portal which allows you the flexibility, time, and space to learn and complete important theory assessments at your own pace, when and wherever you want!
  2. The ability to demonstrate practical skills in the workplace.
Upon successful completion students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication.  This unit can be recognised as a credit transfer towards the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability Specialisation) qualification.
