CORE UNITS
CHCCCS038  Facilitate the empowerment of people receiving support
CHCDIS011 Contribute to ongoing skills development using a strengths-based approach
CHCDIS020 Work effectively in disability support
CHCDIS012 Support community participation and social inclusion

Achievement of these units provides credit towards a range of qualifications in the CHC Community Services Training Package and HLT Health Training Package.

Crucial Training Options (CTO) training is designed for people who wish to work ‘one person at a time’ and who care deeply about the quality of the support they provide. People with lived experience of disability are involved in the design, delivery and oversight of the training and assessment strategies.
 
COURSE COST & PAYMENT:
Full Fee: $1000 (GST Free)

VENUE:
Level 2, 43 Peel Street South Brisbane Qld 4101

Duration and Delivery: blended face-to-face and online delivery
  • 10 weeks of weekly face-to-face classes and simulation assessments
  • Online assessment tasks
  • Next intake 31st January 2025
This skillset does not require you to complete a mandatory Vocational Placement. However, the assessment criteria in the units of competency may require work-based assessments. We encourage students to take on volunteer or paid work while studying which will also allow you to apply the learning and develop practical experience.

Target audience: This skill set is for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in Community Services, Health or a related field, work in various care and support roles and who wish to develop skills in providing person-centred support to people with disability.

Recognition of Prior Learning:
You may apply for recognition of prior learning if you have existing skills and knowledge relevant to the units of competency included in this skillset. You will be required to provide current, sufficient, valid and authentic evidence to achieve a statement of attainment via RPL. Additional training or assessment may be required if there are gaps in your evidence. Contact us to discuss RPL further.
